How to remove cat urine from cement

Cement is very porous. Cleaning up the urine as quickly as possible after the "accident" helps prevent the urine from working its way down into the cement.

Steps to remove cat urine from cement are as follows:

• Soak up as much of the cat urine as possible with paper towels.
• Wash the area with warm water.
• Rinse thoroughly changing the water as needed.
• Saturate the area with an urine removal product.
• Cover with plastic for 2 to 3 hours to help retain the moisture. Retaining the moisture is essential since the bacteria that breaks down the urine works most efficiently in a damp environment.
• Remove the plastic and blot with paper towels
• Reapply the urine removal product and let air dry.
• Check the odor daily. If the odor is still present dampen the area with more cleaner.
