How to remove cat urine from wood floors

An urine removal product will eliminate the odor from a wood floor. But cat urine may discolor a wood floor. If the floor is still discolored after the use of an urine removal product then the floor will need to be refinished to remove the stain.

Steps to removing cat urine from wood floors are as follows:

  • Soak up as much of the cat urine as possible with paper towels.
  • Apply a small amount of full strength cleaner. Spread it evenly with a damp sponge.
  • Let set for 10 minutes then wipe dry
  • Repeat once a day until the odor is gone
  • Discontinue treatment if you notice any discoloration or warping
